While Lin has extensive experience in the finance function (accounting, financings, mergers & acquisitions, business modeling, and administration), her work with startups as well as multinational companies makes her a valued strategic partner with client companies. Lin has worked with a number of successful companies in the technology markets, such as PC-Tel Inc. (PCTI), Sola International Inc. (acquired by Carl Zeiss), and Crystal Technology Inc. (acquired by TDK). Her experience includes three public listings—two in the US and one in Australia—and numerous acquisitions and wind-downs. Lin holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania, Australia. In her spare time, Lin indulges in travel, books, movies, and music.

With 15+ years of experience as a startup advisor, mentor, and finance strategist, Deepak is more that just a CFO. Deepak also has rich and diverse experience in multiple startups spanning R&D, operations, sales, field support, and finance. His experiences at various startups, accelerators, and venture capital provide Deepak a unique multi-hat perspective backed by an impressive and deep network of contacts in the Bay Area. He serves as a Startup Advisor within the Berkeley-Haas Entrepreneurship Program at UC Berkeley and is a coach for the Startup Marketplace, a joint venture between UCB and UCSF. Deepak holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, and an M.B.A. from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Ryan Keating has advised and worked with more than 120 early stage venture capital-seeking and venture-backed companies, several as the interim CFO. Ryan possesses an extensive financial and management consulting background from more than 20 years with venture backed companies and large technology and management consulting firms including Microsoft, Salomon Smith Barney and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He attended Boston University, School of Management and holds a degree in Finance and Information Systems.

David Mozaffarian is a talented CFO for Keating Consulting Group and is responsible for providing strategic counsel and financial planning & analysis to various startups. His experience covers various industries including SaaS, medical device, market/big data, mobile apps, and consumer electronics. David joined Keating in March 2010 and has climbed the ranks from our team of financial analysts. Prior to Keating, David consulted in operations research and factory efficiency for textile factories. David graduated University of California at Berkeley in 2008 with dual degrees in Operations Research & Management Science (B.A.) and in Rhetoric (B.A.).

"Smitty" has been CFO of five high-growth technology companies over the past 18 years. His experience includes domestic/international software/SAAS and hardware selling to consumers, SMBs, and enterprises. Most recently he was CFO of Cloud Engines, Inc., a cloud storage technology company he co-founded in 2007. Previous startup experience includes embedded digital media, consumer devices, electronic design automation software, and business intelligence software. In the 1990s he was based in the Republic of Singapore where he ran Asia finance/operations in six countries for Synopsys, Inc. Greg holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Vermont.

Keating's operations and support team consist of experienced CPAs, controllers, bookkeepers, HR experts, and financial analysts that can help any early stage company in vital operations areas such as: all aspects of accounting, creation of financial projections, human resources and benefit management, facilities, executive level administration, and the development of corporate policies and procedures.

Bruce is a versatile executive with extensive experience covering all aspects of human resources. Bruce has led human resources functions with operations throughout the United States, Asia and Europe. During his career, he has worked with organizations such as The Coca-Cola Company and VWR International, LLC, a global laboratory supplier to the world's top pharmaceutical and biotech firms. He earned his BS in Sociology from Western Michigan University and his MBA from the University of Phoenix School of Business. In addition, Bruce holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation through the HR Certification Institute.
Trained and qualified as a UK Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London, including an international secondment to Montreal, Canada, then worked in international internal audit with Reed Elsevier (now RELX Group) in London and in Sydney, Australia. Cathy has been working as a controller for Bay Area startups since 2001, including Whitelight (sold to Symphony), Mediabolic (sold to Macrovision, now Rovi), Sling, creators of the ‘SlingBox’ (sold to Echostar) and Cloud Engines, creators of the ‘Pogoplug'. She graduated with an honors degree in Economics from the London School of Economics (University of London).

Carolyn has acted as a Senior Accountant or Controller for over 20 Bay Area startups, providing leadership and strategic guidance in fast-growth environments. While at Keating, she has become a thought leader surrounding the specific challenges and rules involved in recurring revenue and SaaS-based business models. Carolyn has a Bachelor's degree in International Economics and Trade from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.
